Standalone Scratching. Real-Time Waveform. Handcrafted in Germany.
The SC1000 MK3 combines the essential elements of turntablism in a compact, standalone scratch instrument. No laptop, mixer, or additional DJ hardware required. Simply insert a USB drive, connect a power source and headphones or speakers, switch it on, and start scratching.
Designed for turntablists who want full control over their sounds at any time, the MK3 combines a touch-sensitive jogwheel, a professional mini innoFADER ULTRA LITE, and an integrated 1.5-inch OLED display with real-time waveform visualization.
Whether you're practicing new scratch techniques, recording routines, or performing on the go, the SC1000 MK3 gives you the freedom to scratch independently of a traditional DJ setup.
One of the most important new features of the MK3 is its integrated 1.5-inch OLED display.
It shows your current position within the sample as a real-time waveform in a detailed 1.5-second window. This provides visual guidance while scratching, making it easier to identify individual sounds, cue points, and specific positions within a sample.
Additional information includes playback status, pitch adjustments, and BPM values.
The SC1000 MK3 features a new magnetic 14-bit position sensor.
With 16,384 position steps per revolution, the sensor offers exceptionally high angular resolution, providing the technical foundation for finely detailed detection of jogwheel movements during scratching.
At the heart of the SC1000 MK3 is the mini innoFADER ULTRA LITE, a fader designed for precise and responsive scratching.
Out of the box, the fader is configured with an exceptionally sharp cut-in setting. Scratching is possible at both ends of the fader travel.
The fader characteristics can be customized through the scsettings.txt configuration file, allowing you to adjust its response to your personal preferences.
An optional Beat Cut function can also be enabled, allowing the beat to be muted at the opposite end of the fader.
The MK3 features four dedicated Hot Cue buttons that allow you to save specific positions within a sample and instantly recall them whenever needed.
Navigate to the desired position using the jogwheel, press an available Hot Cue button, and the position is assigned.
Saved Hot Cues can be recalled, deleted, and reassigned. When switching to another sample, your changes are permanently saved to the USB drive, making them available for future sessions.
The SC1000 MK3 plays samples and backing beats independently, giving you complete control over both elements of your scratch session.
Dedicated Sample and Beat switch buttons allow you to navigate through your audio files. Two separate volume controls let you adjust the balance between samples and beats individually.
Sample and beat playback can also be started and stopped independently.
Want to match the speed of your scratch sample precisely to the beat that's playing?
The MK3 offers independent pitch control for samples and beats, with an adjustment range of up to ±100%.
Activate Pitch Mode using the corresponding switch buttons and adjust the playback speed by rotating the jogwheel. Your selected value can be applied and reset to 0% whenever needed.
Capture your routines without having to connect a computer.
The integrated recording function is activated using the Sample and Beat switch buttons. Your session is saved directly to the connected USB drive as a RAW audio file.
You can then convert the recording into common audio formats using free software such as Audacity.
Ideal for documenting practice sessions, recording scratch patterns, or capturing spontaneous ideas.
The SC1000 MK3 supports external MIDI controllers through a USB hub.
Connect a USB hub with at least two ports to the SC1000 MK3. Then connect your music USB drive and MIDI device to the hub.
A default MIDI mapping for the Akai MPK mini is already preconfigured.
Using the scsettings.txt file, you can customize MIDI assignments and create your own mappings.
Customizing and configuring additional MIDI devices is the user's responsibility. PortablismGear does not provide additional device-specific MIDI mappings.
The SC1000 MK3 supports WAV, MP3, and AIFF audio formats.
Organize your personal scratch library into album subfolders within the beats and samples directories on your USB drive.
The dedicated switch buttons allow you to navigate between individual beats and samples at any time.
BPM information can also be displayed directly on the OLED screen. Simply include the tempo in the filename, for example beat_90bpm.wav.
You're not tied to a proprietary sample library or subscription. The sounds you use are entirely up to you.
Every SC1000 MK3 is individually assembled and tested by hand in our workshop in Hannover, Germany.
From assembling and soldering the electronics to software, final assembly, and functional testing, we handle the entire production process ourselves.
We develop the SC1000 MK3 for people who care about the details of scratching, from jogwheel response to fader precision.
